Who We Are

If you are visiting this website, chances are someone important/special to you has died or you are preparing for a death. We are a supportive community who understands grief. We have all been there. We hope you will find that these pages are a comfort and a place to remember those we love, as well as a resource for information about BFO Kingston Region’s programs and services. We believe that when bereaved families come together to support one another, they can influence the growth of a healing and caring community.

Our Mission

We are Bereaved Families of Ontario – Kingston Region. We provide programs, services and resources based on a mutual support model to individuals, families, children, groups and communities. We are the bereaved helping the bereaved learn to live with grief. We can help the healing begin.

Same Services, New Look

If you’ve visited our website before April 2016, you might have noticed that it looks a little different now.  Don’t worry, we still offer the same great services as before! Take a look around and let us know what you think by sending us an email or using the contact form at the bottom of the page.

As a caring member of our community, we invite you to join us in supporting the bereaved during their most difficult time of need by becoming a member of our organization.  For your convenience, we offer 4 levels of sponsorship with related benefits.  Click here for more information.

All of our programs and services are offered free of charge. BFO-Kingston currently receives no federal, provincial or municipal funding. Most of BFO’s funding comes from individuals, corporations, foundations and special fundraising events. Tax receipts are issued for donations of $10.00 and above (a full address is required).  For more information, click here.

BFO is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers with special skills to offer! Bereavement is not a pre-requisite to volunteer with us. Please contact us at 613-634-1230 or bfo@kingston.net if you are interested in volunteering or if you are a past client and…
